  1. Wear comfortable, broken in, sturdy shoes. Paris is an old European city with cobblestones and irregular sidewalks. You will be walking a lot and if your feet hurt, you won’t have any fun.
  2. Skip taking taxis and Uber. Walk or take the Metro. The metro is convenient, inexpensive, and will take you anywhere you need to go.
  3. Buy tickets in advance and make reservations for popular museums and monuments. It will usually cost you less money and you will skip standing in ridiculously long lines.
  4. If you want amazing photos in the most “Instagram-able” places without all of the extra people, then you will have to get up early. It’s worth it, you will love your pictures.
  5. Take time to wander. If there is anything I learned from the last 3 months of living in Paris, is that there are so many beautiful things to be discovered there. Those things won’t necessarily be on a bucket list of tourist hotspots though. Happy Wandering!
